Once north of the urban sprawl that passes for metro Phoenix, the scenery is spectacular: majestic saguaro cacti, open desert, and, as you approach Flagstaff, the towering San Francisco peaks. Grand Canyon Village is located on the south rim of one of the most famous canyons in the world, the Grand Canyon. I think it's private property, although the road into it was not posted as private, or I wouldn't have gone down it. Our Faldo Course offers exciting challenges such as bunkers and elevation. The higher elevation has also resulted in greater precipitation in the Colorado River drainage area, but not enough to change the Grand Canyon area from being semi-arid. They meet in “a virtual bunker,” The Washington Post recently reported.

Some rooms overlook Sedona’s red rocks, and while the tiny balconies don’t allow for outside seating, the view will more than make up for it. Fife Symington, a strong states' rights supporter, led a convoy of unarmed troops to the park's gate. Although not the steepest nor the longest canyon in the world, the Grand Canyon is recognized as a natural wonder because of the overall scale and size combined with the beautifully colored landscape. Approximate driving time is four hours 30 minutes and distance is 230 miles.

Many of those businesses also have offered to chip in to pay to reopen the park. Directions to the Princess From Sky Harbor International Airport: Take Hwy 202 East to Hwy 101 Loop North. The most rugged section of Yosemite is Tuolumne Meadows and the High Country. It takes around 2 hours to go from Williams to the GC, so it does take a bit longer than driving, but it is nice not having to worry about finding a parking spot. The site is located at the far western end of the West Rim Drive approximately 9 miles from Grand Canyon Village.
